meteorologist!

I'm sitting at work drinking coffee and eating biscotti.

You may wonder WHY I would leave a job where I could blog, drink and eat at my desk without fear of corporal punishment (well, sometimes there is a fear) for one where seemingly everyone hates their jobs, blah blah blah...

Well, I'm not a big fan of my job.
1. It's way too easy. I've been doing the same thing (in10 different permutations) for a year. I could write a process evaluation report in my sleep. And yet doing an excellent job on each report, they refuse to give me any new challenges. I've asked several times, hopeful for some mind blowing task that I'd have no clue how to do, but nope. nothing.
2. I've been a TEMP for 2 years. That means no health insurance, no dental insurance, and a whopping 75 cent raise over the past 2 years.
3. The people I work with are sexist dicks. Well, that's a generalization. Most of them aren't bad, but the few who are bad make up for everyone else. Just because I am a girl does not mean I do not know how to DO SIMPLE MATH OPERATIONS ON A CALCULATOR. ugh.
4. 45 minute commute to get here. Well, there's not a whole lot I can do about that.
5. Production areas. GMP clothing regulations suck, and you can't chew gum either. PASS.
6. Not using my degree. It cost me $80,000 to get a degree in meteorology/math-ology and I'm not even using it. It's not like I haven't applied a MILLION places and not like I didnt have an excellent GPA and a sweet internship and not like I didn't win an award for being an exemplary graduate of the prestigious Lyndon State College. I even tried to join the military, but they didn't want me. ugh.

So, bring on the federal job. The benefits are GREAT compared to what I have now!!! And I might even get to use some of my weather knowledge.
